This program will provide education researchers with training on foundational skills in mixture modeling and in-depth support in the appropriate use of the modeling approach in their research. The training is intended for researchers who have some background in statistics, access to data, and potential research questions that could be addressed using a mixture model.
The fellow program will support the development of the two cohorts of 12 fellows who are each working on critical issues in education. The goal is to not only teach the mixture modeling to these fellows, but also support the appropriate use of the modeling approach to conduct rigorous and relevant educational research.
In addition to the fellowship program, we will also create a range of online training materials available to a larger educational research community. This material will be included on the methods training webpage, linked through the PIs academic website, email signatures, and advertised on Twitter, etc.
